‘Past, Present and Future at Manchester Museum’ – Manchester Museum is the the UK’s largest University museum and holds over 4.5 million spicimens. Founded at the height of the British Empire, this encyclopedic collection covers Anthropology, Archaeology, Botany, Earth Sciences, Egyptology, Entomology and Zoology. As the museum prepares for a major extention, including a South Asia Gallery, China Gallery, Special Exhibitions Hall and new entrance, Dr Campbell Price will share learning and best practice with colleagues around the world. This lecture reviews the history of the Museum and its plans for the future.
